Nintendo DSi is out

I cant say that with already owning an internet tablet and a DS Lite with a recently purchased G.T.A Chinatown wars, i'll be missing out on the extra functionality found from myself owning one.

Only time will tell if he cameras are put to good use in games beyond that of just face mapping.

Whats going on with the lack of Guitar Hero support also with absence of a GBA slot? But thats just my opinion.

Getting more bang for your buck

Its been some time since I posted on this blog and to be honest I wasn't too sure on keeping these ramblings online, however after a long think about not making making posts an annual event anymore.

I considered that one of the reasons I didnt post frequently was down to not having an easy method of getting my ideas and helpful thoughts in a timely manner onto the blogger site, this has since changed after looking to fill that hole with a free piece of software on my Nokia N800 called Maemo WordPy. Ive been thinking of getting a new laptop these past few months, however after looking at current range of technology I already own I thought I would see what other unused features of the devices I already owned could be put to use before splashing out more money in this current economic climate.

Maemo WordPy is a blogging client which I have now found handles Blogger as a service, which in turn means any text or notes I jot down during the day can be cleverly posted to my Blog should I wish...

I take it that some people will not see the fuss around this but to me it means a lot. The interface is quick and clear to use, working nicely with the rest of the Internet tablets interface. Posts can be managed and edited without me needing to be tied to a keyboard and monitor now.

On the fly blogging, here we come.

I hope the few readers that do stumble over my posts, actually see a benefit from this in that more frequent post and relievent posts are made. Else the point is lost, however this post was typed using Maemo Wordpy so, I would say its been worth the effort already.

Playing with Linux more and more these days after getting a Linux Format subscribtion (Cheers Dad)
to support developments made with my Eeepc 700.

Until next time.

The New Definition

So, my last post was mainly a way of collecting my thoughts on what
some would agree was a bit of a challenging week with the interviews
and so on. I must say that I centered around my ideas of getting a
HDTV and to be fair the post was more of a way of me sorting out a few
things in head.

So what have i been upto? Last week I managed to take only a handful
of days annual leave and with these twinned with the bank holidays I
manged to get 8 days off work (12 including the weekends). With that
little introduction over, the idea of getting early nights during this
time off work were far from reality. So what did i do after getting my
Sony Brivia 32" television? What would any one like me do? Take a week
to truely enjoy the new purchase on as many consoles and media players
as possible :-p

The search for HD

So today I spent a bit of time looking for an affordable 42 inch LCD
TV for my bed room with a budget of £600. Only after viewing two
online retailers of HD LCD TV's I was made aware that a 40 or more
inches HD TV with all the trimmings was not within my budget.

So from having a look at the cheaper end of the HD TV sprectrum,
including TV's manfactured by lesser know brands, like the ones sold
in Supermarkets now, I think I willl be getting a standardish LG or
Sharp 32" HD TV now.

With this in mind the price will be around the £550 mark.

Which will then mean I could buy a stand and the nessary leads to run
my Nintendo Wii through it. OH YES!!

Letting of some steam!!

So yesterday I had to give a 10 Minute presentation on Using
Information and I.T to improve services, as part of a Job
interview/possible promotion witin Essex County Council.

So how did it go you ask? Well lets put it that I wasnt a successful
candidate for the job. However within the feedback, I was
congratulated on the knowledge I shew within the presentation and my
manager has indentified some key points that will assist my personal
development and presentation skills for the future. So not all bad.

Ive got another interview on Friday for another job within my present
team, which if I manage to play my cards right should be in the bag.

Should the above all go to plan, I fell a gadget spend up is in order.

I'm going to do a bit of research before hand, but Im looking to pick
up an Xbox 360 and a lovely 42 inch HD Television this weekend.

I'll be in touch shortly to let you know how it has all gone.

Playstation 3 finally out in the Uk!

Now as your probably aware from the news, the £425 price tag of the
Playstation 3 hasn't gone down very well with the UK public. This is
probably due to people now becoming familiar to the affordable price
of the Nintendo Wii, (albeit that they are still hard to come across)
and see the playstation 3 as more than twice as expensive and thats
before the customer has brought a game to play on there nice and shiny
new console.

I myself was interested in getting a PS3 however this was back in
November before the first release delay came along.

Though my ears my have misinformed me, I heard a playstation rep speak
of the consoles release and its price tag just recently, my jaw nearly
dropped when the statement of the playstation 3 being 40 times more
powerful than the playstation 2 was said.

Only the sales of the PS3 will prove its true value and I'm looking
forward to seeing how it compares to the Nintendo Wii or the Xbox 360.

2nd test

So this is the 2nd proper test message on my blog since april last year!

Someone sort it out!

I must say though, things have been pretty hairy since I last posted via the Web that spare 5 mins I had nearly a year ago.

Im now trying to post something, if only for my own pleasure my antics and thoughts to come back to some other day, via my mobile phone. My Nokia N80, running G-Mail, enables me to post as many blog entrys as a like for a very little mobile internet data cost.

Anyways, I'll get on with explaining things a bit later,

Until then, be safe.
