The New Definition

So, my last post was mainly a way of collecting my thoughts on what
some would agree was a bit of a challenging week with the interviews
and so on. I must say that I centered around my ideas of getting a
HDTV and to be fair the post was more of a way of me sorting out a few
things in head.

So what have i been upto? Last week I managed to take only a handful
of days annual leave and with these twinned with the bank holidays I
manged to get 8 days off work (12 including the weekends). With that
little introduction over, the idea of getting early nights during this
time off work were far from reality. So what did i do after getting my
Sony Brivia 32" television? What would any one like me do? Take a week
to truely enjoy the new purchase on as many consoles and media players
as possible :-p

The search for HD

So today I spent a bit of time looking for an affordable 42 inch LCD
TV for my bed room with a budget of £600. Only after viewing two
online retailers of HD LCD TV's I was made aware that a 40 or more
inches HD TV with all the trimmings was not within my budget.

So from having a look at the cheaper end of the HD TV sprectrum,
including TV's manfactured by lesser know brands, like the ones sold
in Supermarkets now, I think I willl be getting a standardish LG or
Sharp 32" HD TV now.

With this in mind the price will be around the £550 mark.

Which will then mean I could buy a stand and the nessary leads to run
my Nintendo Wii through it. OH YES!!

Letting of some steam!!

So yesterday I had to give a 10 Minute presentation on Using
Information and I.T to improve services, as part of a Job
interview/possible promotion witin Essex County Council.

So how did it go you ask? Well lets put it that I wasnt a successful
candidate for the job. However within the feedback, I was
congratulated on the knowledge I shew within the presentation and my
manager has indentified some key points that will assist my personal
development and presentation skills for the future. So not all bad.

Ive got another interview on Friday for another job within my present
team, which if I manage to play my cards right should be in the bag.

Should the above all go to plan, I fell a gadget spend up is in order.

I'm going to do a bit of research before hand, but Im looking to pick
up an Xbox 360 and a lovely 42 inch HD Television this weekend.

I'll be in touch shortly to let you know how it has all gone.

Playstation 3 finally out in the Uk!

Now as your probably aware from the news, the £425 price tag of the
Playstation 3 hasn't gone down very well with the UK public. This is
probably due to people now becoming familiar to the affordable price
of the Nintendo Wii, (albeit that they are still hard to come across)
and see the playstation 3 as more than twice as expensive and thats
before the customer has brought a game to play on there nice and shiny
new console.

I myself was interested in getting a PS3 however this was back in
November before the first release delay came along.

Though my ears my have misinformed me, I heard a playstation rep speak
of the consoles release and its price tag just recently, my jaw nearly
dropped when the statement of the playstation 3 being 40 times more
powerful than the playstation 2 was said.

Only the sales of the PS3 will prove its true value and I'm looking
forward to seeing how it compares to the Nintendo Wii or the Xbox 360.

2nd test

So this is the 2nd proper test message on my blog since april last year!

Someone sort it out!

I must say though, things have been pretty hairy since I last posted via the Web that spare 5 mins I had nearly a year ago.

Im now trying to post something, if only for my own pleasure my antics and thoughts to come back to some other day, via my mobile phone. My Nokia N80, running G-Mail, enables me to post as many blog entrys as a like for a very little mobile internet data cost.

Anyways, I'll get on with explaining things a bit later,

Until then, be safe.
